Who we Are

Highgate Playgroup has been an established not-for-profit since 1997 when it officially became an incorporated association. We are a member of Playgroup WA, and are run by a group of dedicated members elected to the management committee who volunteer their time, skills and services to run and promote playgroup.

Each playgroup session also has it’s own group representative who will communicate with you and the rest of your group via WhatsApp (each group organises and runs their own sessions based on their individual needs and ages of their children from structured activities such as arts and crafts to free play, or a mixture of both).

Our Facilities

We are committed to providing a fun, safe and vibrant centre for parents/caregivers and children to share and come together in a social setting.

Our dedicated and custom-built centre is fully equipped with:

Full kitchen (including coffee machine) and food preparation area
Toilet and baby change facilities
Large range of indoor and outdoor toys, including dress-ups, role play, musical instruments, and books suitable for 0 – 5 year-olds
Craft supplies and equipment
Air conditioning and heating
Fully enclosed outdoor play area, shaded by large gum trees overlooking Forrest Park

Our Committee

Highgate Forrest Park Playgroup Inc. is a not-for-profit association run by an elected management committee and governed by a constitution. The Executive Committee is made up of members who volunteer their time and skills to help run our Playgroup!

Each session is required to have a Group Representative who provides a consistent focal point between the Committee & the group.

The Committee meets quarterly over wine, cheese and chocolate to share ideas and make plans on how to make Highgate Playgroup even better!

All members are welcome to attend meetings, take up a position on the Committee, or even offer up their professional skills or services to help run and promote our playgroup. These are great way to get involved with our community, use your “adult” skills for a fabulous cause and have some fun along the way!

My mothers group, and playgroup, was invaluable to me – much to my surprise. Even when I didn’t want to leave the house in that first year, walking down to playgroup for a cup of tea with the girls become my life saviour. Chad and I would like to say THANK YOU for letting us use the venue for our daughter’s 3rd birthday party yesterday. Every single one of our guests particularly the ones who has never been to the Highgate Playgroup were very impressed with the facilities. There were interests in venue hire and becoming a member – including the perks of being one. We have shared some information and hopefully we have encouraged our friends to join too.

You guys are doing an awesome job! It is certainly the most organised and clean playgroup I’ve ever been to! I’ve got a background in organisational psychology and it makes me so happy to see well run organisations!
